Lean Hogs

Lean hog futures are trading 72.5 cents to $1.70 in the green at midday on Tuesdau. The CME Lean Hog Index for 6/9 was up another 57 cents to $80.59. The USDA pork carcass cutout value was $1.88 higher in the morning report, with a weighted average of $95.02. The belly was slightly lower. The national base hog carcass price was $1.25 higher with a weighted average of $78.47 in the morning report. Estimated FI hog slaughter on Monday was 411,000 head, 29,000 fewer than last week and 14,000 head below last year.

Jul 17 Hogs are at $82.400, up $1.700

Aug 17 Hogs are at $80.775, up $0.775
